look of satisfaction |
I love to see the unique individual beauty of a person. This
is my autistic granddaughter. She is proud of herself as she finishes her
creation. I feel a special beauty and joy whenever I see her but especially
when I capture a feeling from within her like this.
The lines and texture of the wood draw the eye toward her as does the line of wood on the wall in front of her. She is framed by the lines that the wood creates around the white wall space she stands in.The way that her arms are laid directs the eye from her expression to the work she is creating. Her hat and the shadow cast by it bring the emphasis to the smug little joyful expression she touts. The picture behind her shoulder repeats the theme of the puzzle she is working on and helps bring the picture together with a splash of colors. The color of her shirt even helps complete and tie everything together for me.

the beauty of each unique face |
Each face shares some unique story. As I look upon the
individual faces I feel that I touch a special kind of beauty. As I connect
with each face I feel a special joy flow over me.
The fact that they
are all wearing the same hats in repeated colors of purple and white bring more
distinction to the faces. The white texture designed cement and polished smooth
red wood back drop direct emphases and bring a sense of uniformity to the
picture. The lines of the red wood and White cement structures bring the
attention back to the group of individual faces. The fact that the group are
all wearing the same hats and intently looking toward my direction with serious
expressions helps create a certain effect and captures the beauty of their
individual expression or story.
